East Grand Rapids' 3rd Ward

East Grand Rapids' 3rd Ward encompasses the neighborhoods bounded by Hall Street to the south, Lake Drive and Wealthy Street to the north, Breton Road to the east and Gladstone Avenue to the west. It includes Gaslight Village and a small section south of Hall Street bounded by Lenox Road, Elmwood Drive and Cornell Avenue.

Make Your Plan to Vote

All residents can register to vote at East Grand Rapids' City Hall or any Michigan Secretary of State's Office. If you hold a valid Michigan Driver's License, you can also register to vote online. Once you're registered, you do not need to re-register unless you move and/or change your address of residence. You must be a US Citizen and at least 18 years of age by election day to register to vote. You can verify your voter registration status (and the find answers to many questions about voting in Michigan) by visiting the Michigan Voter Information Center.

Election Day for 2023 is Tuesday, November 7, 2023. Be sure to make your plan to vote!

 

Voting In Person on Election Day

There are two polling locations in Ward 3. Voters living in Precinct 5 may vote in person at the Wealthy Pool Multi-Purpose Room at 1961 Lake Drive. Residents living in Precinct 6 may vote in person at the EGR High School Performing Arts Center at 2211 Lake Drive

If you're not sure in which precinct you live, you can consult the map linked above or via the Michigan Voter Information Center.

 

Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.

 

Voting Early

East Grand Rapids will offer nine days of early voting this year from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. starting Saturday, Oct. 28 and running through Sunday, Nov. 5 in room 105 at the Community Center, located at 750 Lakeside Drive SE. The one exception to this schedule will be on Wednesday, Nov. 1, when early voting will be open from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. at the same location.

Voting Absentee

In 2018, Michigan voters passed a constitutional amendment giving all registered voters the right to use the absentee ballot process. Those who wish to vote absentee must fill out an simple application form and return it to the East Grand Rapids City Clerk. All information related to voting absentee in East Grand Rapids can be found on the City's Absentee Voting webpage. All absentee ballots must arrive via mail or in-person delivery to the East Grand Rapids City Clerk's Office on or before 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.
